What can I do to receive more work from LanguageWire?
To improve your opportunities to receive more jobs, consider these important actions:
Update your LanguageWire profile
Log in to your LanguageWire profile and review each tab, one by one, to make sure your information is correct and up to date and that all fields are completed.
Pay particular attention to the following tabs and sections of your profile:
Vendor Information:
- Fill in the “Introduce yourself to the clients” and “Personal comment to the project managers” text boxes. This is your chance to introduce yourself and highlight your skills and experience.
- Indicate the translation tools you use.
- Upload all relevant and current diplomas, certificates, and CV.
Skills:
- Check your primary work areas to make sure you’ve selected general ones (e.g. “Business – General” or “Marketing – General”).
- Add more work areas under your language pairs. It can be other general work areas, e.g. “Travel & Hospitality – General”, or sub-areas e.g. “Art & Culture – Music”.
- The work areas determine which jobs you appear for as a match. For this reason, it’s important that you add all the work areas in which you have experience. However, adding an excessive number of work areas is not recommended, as it can be perceived as overclaiming your expertise.
To add work areas:
- Click on your language pair.
- Add Work Area. Choose new work areas from the drop-down list, from which you can add multiple work areas in one step.
- Once you have added them to one language pair, you can click on Copy Work Areas to copy the work areas to your other language pair(s).
- Expand the services you offer by adding more job types, e.g. Copywriting or SEO Keyword Check. We recommend writing about your experience with these newly added job types in the “Personal comment to the project managers” text box.
- Check the Price Combinations indicated in your profile. If your rates are too high, it may prevent our PMs from selecting you for their projects. If you are curious to find out if your rates are generally within budget for LanguageWire’s customers, you can always reach out to Vendor Procurement at vendorprocurement@languagewire.com.
Check in on your regular customers
If you have noticed a decrease in the orders coming from a particular customer, we recommend getting in touch with the LanguageWire employee responsible for the particular customer’s setup via email. They can enlighten you on the reason for the decrease and potentially give you insights on what to expect for the future. You can find the name of the relevant LanguageWire employee under Profile > My Entities, and you can find their email address under LW Contacts. You can also inform this person, as well as the other Project Managers you know, that you have the capacity and interest in receiving more work.
